"He will feed his flock like a shepherd, He will gather the lambs in his arms and carry them close to his heart." (Isaiah 40:11)
Filmed in the sheep shed at the Royal Welsh Show, this Super Short Thought looks at the difference between driving a flock and carrying it.
At feeding time, some stand outside the pen and throw the feed in. Others get right in among the flock.
Isaiah pictures God the same way: not shouting from behind, not shoving the flock into a pen, but gathering the lambs up and carrying them close to his heart.
If this week, or this season of life, has left you feeling more driven than carried, that's not how the Good Shepherd works. He comes in with you.
Wherever you are today: tired, stretched, holding it together for everyone else, you are allowed to be carried too.
