Many people today feel spiritually hungry — searching for meaning, purpose, belonging, or satisfaction — but nothing seems to fill the gap.

In this Super Short Thought, we look at a striking promise from Jesus recorded in Revelation 2 to a pressured and marginalised church in the ancient city of Pergamum.

The people around them relied on the idol worship of their city for belonging, acceptance, and even food ... trying to earn those things through idol worship.

But Jesus promised something different: “hidden manna.”

That phrase points back to the Old Testament, when God provided daily bread in the wilderness for people who trusted Him.

The message is simple but powerful:

You can feed on what the world offers — approval, status, indulgence —
or you can find lasting sustenance in Christ Himself.

One satisfies briefly.
The other sustains deeply and forever.

If you’ve ever felt spiritually empty, restless, or hungry for something more, this short reflection may help you think about where real satisfaction is found.
