There’s a castle behind me here in Llansteffan - built to keep people out.

Strong walls. Locked doors. Secure.

And in Revelation 3:20, there’s an image just like that, but far more unsettling.

Jesus stands at the door and knocks … not outside a hostile world, but outside a self-assured church.

That means it’s possible to build a life that looks stable, successful - even spiritual - while quietly shutting out the one relationship it was meant to be built on.

Not through rebellion.
Through misguided independence: “I’m fine. I’ve got this.”

But Jesus doesn’t force his way in.
He invites. He waits. He offers relationship, not authoritarian control.

So here’s the question this raises:

What if the thing missing from your life isn’t more success or self-improvement … but a relationship with God you’ve never really opened the door to?

This isn’t complicated.
But it is decisive.
