The Show's over. But the horseflies are still biting. And something I saw at the boot sale won't leave me alone.
Nearly 2,000 years ago, a man named John opened a letter with words we now toss around without thinking: "I pray that you may prosper and be in health, just as your soul is prospering" (3 John 1:2).
Walking the showground this week, that line gripped me differently, because what I saw wasn't just a nation carrying the weight of years indoors and years of the wrong fuel.
It was a question about the soul too.
A few lines later, John describes someone who never learned to say no to himself, and it destroyed him. So here's the question the Show left me with: is the rest of you keeping up with your soul?
